Superstition has been around for ever, and no matter how you might deny it, It has played a part in your life in some way or another, cause I know that you have refused to walk under a ladder at some point, or said “bless you” to someone who has sneezed.
Which brings me to this question – Is having mirrors in your bedroom – especially when it is facing the bed, a good thing or a bad thing? Does it fall under the superstition file and therefore you will file it in file 13 where all the useless information goes, or do you think to yourself, maybe, just maybe there might be something more to this.
According to superstitions, many cultures believed that mirrors have the ability to steal souls. Some say that if the mirror faces the bed then that would invite a third party into the couple’s relationship and possibly encourage infidelity. Most experts say that a mirror reflecting the bed brings nightmares.
According to the Classical Feng Shui belief, putting a mirror in your bedroom is bad
Feng Shui. Main reason for this being that a Mirror is a Yang Energy and a Bedroom is a Ying energy – a place to relax and to sleep. According to Feng Shui, you cannot put a Yang energy into a Ying space.
But there is more to this than it just being a Ying and a Yang explanation.
A mirror facing the bed is said to deplete your energy and can create sleeplessness.
A Mirror bounces and doubles all sorts of energy and it can disrupt the tranquility you need in the bedroom for better sleep. It will be like sleeping with the light in your face, or trying to sleep with a loud speaker next to your ear. Resulting in you not getting enough sleep at night and not being able to wake up properly in the morning. Have you woken up in the morning and have knee pain, or chest pain. Go back and check if that mirror edges crosses over your body in some way, you will probably find that the mirror next to your bed, is in line with your knee or your chest.
If you want to do your own test, I would encourage you to take two dowsing rods in your hands and then stand in front of a mirror and you will see how the dowsing rods repel away from each other. Need I say more?
