The Multi Million-Dollar Warning:   A Feng Shui Master’s Integrity

When a high-flying businessman reached out to me for a project, I knew I was stepping into a world where honesty often meets resistance. In his world, wealth and power could easily sweep away objections, bending outcomes to his will. But for me, as a Feng Shui Master, integrity is everything. My mentor, Grand Master Yap Cheng Hai, always said that while it takes decades to build a reputation, just five minutes can destroy it. So, with my resolve to be direct, I met him, fully prepared to speak the truth—even if it meant walking away from this job.

He wanted me to help him shape his vision: a sprawling, ultra-luxury apartment complex of 850 units. It was a tempting proposition, the kind most would jump at without question. And so, with curiosity and determination, I journeyed to the site, prepared to study its energy and reveal what lay beneath its ambitious plans.

As I walked the grounds and conducted my Feng Shui calculations, I felt an unease begin to stir. The property bore ominous signs: a Bow and Arrow Sha, symbolic of sharp, combative energy, and a river running behind the plot, a feature that often signals instability when not properly aligned. The land was higher in the front and dipped lower at the back—a setup that spelled trouble for any project seeking harmony and prosperity. After completing my assessment, I sat with my client, face-to-face. He was a man used to hearing only what suited him, but I would not let this deter me. “This land is not favourable,” I began. “A conflict will arise among the partners, and the money you invest here is at great risk.” I even provided a date, cautioning him that on November 20, 2020, he would face a storm—a clash that could unravel the entire project.

True to the warning, the date arrived, and he visited the site only to find himself amid a fierce dispute. Voices were raised, agreements were broken, and the ambitious plans began to falter. Later, he contacted me, his tone a blend of relief and gratitude. “You saved me millions,” he admitted. That one instance of honesty, of holding to the truth against the odds, had spared him a fortune.

A Feng Shui Master can resolve any problems in a property, to make it work & sell. But it would not be fair to the landlord or to the tenants ,as we would be covering up the problem, but there would be endless problems during its construction & during the selling or rental process. A correct building would be rented or  sold out in months, but a property that we just cover up the problems , would take years to rent or sell out. It is very important for the landlord to respect the wellbeing of his tenants ,as if they are successful , they will also be able to pay the landlord. But if the building is not correct, the tenants moving in would land up having problems , like arguments & health problems. The tenants would move in rich , with great jobs, but after moving in, they will loose their jobs & thus default on their payments on the apartment they bought, leading to legal costs & revamping costs that would have to be done after they are evacuated from the apartment. These problems will linger for many decades ,bringing the landlord endless problems & headaches. Thus rather talk the truth in the beginning & go find a good property that will support the wellbeing of the tenants, as in good health ,wealth & great relationships. They will thus have great jobs & they will be able to pay the landlord on time, without any headaches.

In Feng Shui, as in life, trust is sacred. I could have ignored the warning signs, taken the job, and let the inevitable play out. But I chose instead to honour the art of Feng Shui and its responsibility to the people it serves. Yes, speaking truth might mean losing some jobs, but it opens the door to countless others. For a Feng Shui Master, integrity is the true foundation upon which all work is built.
